hitesh Vaidya
Hitesh vaidya is a visual artist based in Bhaktapur with interest in the visual and communicative potential of the objects and space working without the limitation of medium to convey ideas. He believes that human experiences are enraptured in the things we use and the space we live in; it becomes a base for connecting happenings of the past exiting in fragments of memories one can have. He think everyday objects and how they are managed in a space that is often unnoticed can act as visual signifiers and commentaries on our social and cultural histories. The home that stood for generations and objects passed down in family have a lot to tell about how generations of people have lived. They can work as references to retell events or happenings of the past and human history is all about connecting missing link. The historic dwellings, people, and the life style of the people from my town (Bhaktapur and two other cites of Kathmandu valley Kathmandu and Patan) have deeply influenced me as an artist.
Vaidya's work process started with the visual documentation, analysis of the visual archive of space and objects I have collected. Questioning what does it reflects to him and finding way to represent it through mediums resonating with my ideas. The approach of his work have been a qualitative and quantitative research approach and finding way for artistic representation.
